چکیده
Abstract In this work a number of selected, isotropic, invariant-based hyperelastic models are analyzed. The considered constitutive relations hyperelasticity include the model by Gent (G) and its extension, so-called generalized (GG), exponential-power law (Exp-PL) power (PL). material parameters under study have been identified for eight different experimental data sets. As it has demonstrated, much celebrated Gent’s does not always allow to obtain an acceptable quality approximation. Furthermore, is observed that best curve fitting usually achieved when experimentally derived conditions were proposed Rivlin Saunders fulfilled. However, shown in contradiction with mathematical requirements stored energy polyconvexity. A polyconvex function assumed order ensure existence solutions properly defined boundary value problem avoid non-physical response. It found case analyzed application polyconvexity leads only slight decrease quality. When assumed, approximation obtained PL model. Among non-polyconvex models, results most frequently GG both G problematic due presence locking effect.

Finite Plane Strain Deformations of Rubberlike Materials
A finite element program capable of analysing finite plane strain deformations of incompressible rubberlike (Mooney-Rivlin) materials has been develop~d. Two problems, namely a long wall loaded uniformly in two directions and a thick-wall cylindrical pressure vessel loaded internally, have been solved. The computed values of displacements, strains, stresses and hydrostatic pressure agree very c...
متن کاملCrack growth in polyconvex materials∗
We discuss a model for crack propagation in an elastic body, where the crack path is described a-priori. In particular, we develop in the framework of finitestrain elasticity a rate-independent model for crack evolution which is based on the Griffith fracture criterion. Due to the nonuniqueness of minimizing deformations, the energy-release rate is no longer continuous with respect to time and ...
متن کاملOn the modeling of internal parameters in hyperelastic biological materials
This paper concerns the behavior of hyperelastic energies depending on an internal parameter. First, the situation in which the internal parameter is a function of the gradient of the deformation is presented. Second, two models where the parameter describes the activation of skeletal muscle tissue are analyzed. In those models, the activation parameter depends on the strain and it is important...
متن کاملTowards Real-time Simulation of Hyperelastic Materials
We present a new method for real-time physics-based simulation supporting many different types of hyperelastic materials. Previous methods such as Position Based or Projective Dynamics are fast, but support only limited selection of materials; even classical materials such as the Neo-Hookean elasticity are not supported. Recently, Xu et al. [2015] introduced new “spline-based materials” which c...
متن کاملConstitutive modelling of hyperelastic rubber-like materials
The simulation of rubber-like material behaviour by means of the finite element method has been described in this study. Proper material models were selected for the numerical description of static hyper-elasticity. The combinations of a continuum damage mechanics concept and a pseudo-elastic concept with Gao’s elastic law were used to simulate the ideal Mullins effect. Furthermore, a specific ...
